Lee Iacocca is the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes. He's now 82 years old and has a new book, 'Where Have All The Leaders Gone?' Lee Iacocca Says: "Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder! We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the course.' Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned, 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the bums out!' You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore. The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of the ' America ' my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you? I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest 'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being the first.) Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself. It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down. On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here's where we stand. We're immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We're losing the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble. Our borders are like sieves. The middle class is being squeezed every which way. These are times that cry out for leadership. But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point. Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo? We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened. Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm. Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn't happen again. Now, that's just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you're going to do the next time. Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it? Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry. I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn't elect you to sit on your a**es and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change? Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope - I believe in America . In my lifetime, I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest moments. I've also experienced some of our worst crises: The 'Great Depression,' 'World War II,' the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11. If I've learned one thing, it's this: 'You don't get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it's building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That's the challenge I'm raising in this book. It's a "Call to Action" for people who, like me, believe in America '. It's not too late, but it's getting pretty close. So let's shake off the crap and go to work. Let's tell 'em all we've had 'enough.' Make your own contribution by sending this to everyone you know and care about. It's our country, folks, and it's our future. Our future is at stake!!" | | |
| George Washington, Thomas Jefferson Samuel Adams, First Chief Justice John Jay Names synonymous with the spirit of our country Founding fathers of the U.S.A.
Over 200 years ago they shook off
the chains of tyranny from Great Britain by divine call Citing 27 biblical violations they wrote the Declaration of Independence With liberty and justice for all
But something happened since Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone For American liberty then put it in our schools as a light Or since "Give me liberty or give me death", Patrick Henry said Our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ
We eliminated God from the equation of American life Thus eliminating the reason this nation first began From beyond the grave I hear the voices of our founding fathers plead You need God in America again
Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution Fifty-two were active members of their church Founding fathers like Noah Webster who wrote the first dictionary Could literally quote the Bible chapter and verse
James Madison said, "We've staked our future on our ability to follow The Ten Commandments with all our heart" These men believed you couldn't even call yourself an American If you subvert the Word of God
In his farewell address, Washington said, "You can't have National morality apart from religious principle," and it's true 'Cause right now we have nearly 150,000 kids carrying guns To these war zones we call public schools
In the '40's and '50's student problems were chewing gum and talking In the '90's, rape and murder are the trend The only way this nation can even hope to last this decade Is to put God in America again
The only hope for America is Jesus The only hope for our country is Him If we repent of our ways stand firm and say We need God in America again
Abe Lincoln said, "The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation Will be the philosophy of the government of the next" So when you eliminate the Word of God from the classroom and politics You eliminate the nation that Word protects
America is now number one in teen pregnancy and violent crime Number one in illiteracy, drug use and divorce Every day a new holocaust of 5,000 unborn die While pornography flood our streets like open sewers
America's dead and dying hand is on the threshold of the Church While the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah vex us all When it gets to the point where people
would rather come out of the closet than clean it It's the sign that the judgment of God is gonna fall
If there's ever been a time to rise up Church, it's now And as the blood bought saints of the living God proclaim That it's time to send the alarm from the Church house to The White House And say, "We want God in America again"
I believe it's time America to stand up and proclaim That one nation under God is our demand And send this evil lifestyle back to Satan where it came from And let the Word of God revive our dying land
For Jesus Christ is coming back again in all His glory And every eye shall see Him on that day That's why a new anointing of God's power's coming on us To boldly tell the world “you must be saved”
Because astrology won't save you, your horoscope won't save you The Bible says these things are all farce If you're born again you don't need to look to the stars for your answers 'Cause you can look to the very One who made those stars
History tells us time and time again To live like there's no God makes you a fool If you want to see kids live right Stop handing out condoms and start handing out the Word of God in schools
The only hope for America is Jesus The only hope for our country is Him If we repent of our ways stand firm and say We need God in America again
We need God in America God in America God in America again

NASA: Liquid Confirmed on Saturn’s Moon Titan
At least one of many large, lakelike features on Saturn's moon Titan studied by the international Cassini spacecraft contains liquid hydrocarbons, making it the only body in the solar system besides Earth known to have liquid on its surface, NASA said Wednesday.
Scientists positively identified the presence of ethane, according to a statement from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, which manages the Cassini mission exploring Saturn, its rings and moons.
Liquid ethane is a component of crude oil.
Cassini has made more than 40 close flybys of Titan, a giant planet-sized satellite of the ringed world.
Scientists had theorized Titan might have oceans of methane, ethane and other hydrocarbons, but Cassini found hundreds of dark, lakelike features instead, and it wasn't known at first whether they were liquid or dark, solid material, JPL's statement said…

I Say:
Oh dear. “Liquid ethane is a component of crude oil.”
I guess that once Earth runs out of oil, Titan will be the most valuable chunk of real estate in the galaxy. Is it a coincidence then that there is an oil company called Titan (Titan Oil & Gas Inc.)?

How Mars and Alaska Are Alike
Little did Bucknell University geology professors Craig Kochel and Jeffrey Trop know, as they were working in Alaska, that they would soon predict one of the most important planetary observations ever made.
The pair was in Alaska for an eight-day trip in July 2006, studying geological features and the processes that create them. As they studied photographs taken of the surrounding area, some features caught Kochel's eye. He thought they were strangely familiar, and then realized they reminded him of images he'd seen when working on the Viking missions to Mars in the 1970s.
Kochel and Trop trekked to where the shots were taken overlooking a glacier. Spotting triangle-shaped landforms called "fans" sealed the deal: They looked strikingly similar to photographs taken of features on Mars.
Mystery solved
Although geologists can usually tell what shapes the landscape around us, it was a mystery what formed the Mars-like features found in Alaska.
The conditions on Mars are quite different than anything experienced on Earth. For example, Mars is much colder than even the Arctic — the average martian temperature is -81 degrees F (-63 degrees C) — and the planet's atmospheric pressure is lower than Earth's. Still, for the same features to be present on Earth and Mars, the two professors suspected similar processes would have made them.
They had just over a week in Alaska to discover what created the glaciers and fans.
During this time they managed to see an impressive 289 events, including rock falls and floods. The vast majority of these events were snow and ice avalanches. The frequency of these avalanches astounded the scientists, who reasoned that climate change was the most likely culprit. As temperatures rise, the glaciers pull back, creating large areas where ice has been separated. Material can fall down these cracks and lead to avalanches. This was creating the features seen in Alaska, and perhaps the same thing had happened on Mars…
Studies like this help us understand the changes that take place during periods of climate variation. They also show that although planets like the Earth and Mars are very different places, in many ways they can be astoundingly similar…

I Say:
Okay, I can certainly not be the only one to notice the implications this discovery has. How can scientists say humans are destroying Earth with global warming, when identical geological processes are taking place in Alaska and on Mars? Does that mean that we’re cause global warming on Mars? You have got to be kidding me.
As my Dad puts it; “Those darn Martians and their SUVs!” Maybe the Martians are breathing too much, just like humans. The blame for global warming is, after all, placed on allegations that there is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So I supposed the logical solution would be to reduce carbon dioxide by having everyone stop breathing for a while. And if that works, then the Martians could learn from us, and save their own planet. Join us, People of Mars, in going Green, before it’s too late!
But seriously; I am actually surprised information like this was made known to the public. It seems to me it flies in the face of the whole Global Warming crusade. I simply don’t grasp how we could be causing the same warming on Mars that we’re causing here on Earth. The whole story seems really odd to me. Astronomy can really offer a glimpse into the vastness of the mysteries of Creation.
Just my observation; could it be possible that God reveals these things to us to answer the questions being asked that are getting louder and louder among the masses?

| I haven't been too busy to post, I just kind of forgot about this blog. I'll keep my eyes peeled for news stories that I can voice an opinion about.
But for now, I think I'll do a little shout-out, because I want to get my two cents in, for anyone who might stumble upon this site:
Why does all the credit for our electrical age go to Thomas Edison?
Now I'll grant you, Edison was born and raised in America, but there is another, in my opinion far greater, man involved in bringing new ideas to common people, and his name was Nikola Tesla.
Tesla is the true genius of the Electrical Age, and though he was not born on the soil of our United States, he became a God blessed American citizen, and had just as great an impact on our lives. I see more and more mention of Nikola's name in print of late, but not nearly as much as Edison is spoken of.
My family has an encyclopedia set published in the 80s, and Tesla was written about in only three small paragraphs, while Thomas Edison had three whole pages! Talk about injustice. Tesla was a genius, a gentleman, and as selfless and generous as anyone I have ever heard of. He could have been a millionaire, but chose instead to set his sights on free energy for the world. But where did it get him? After receiving an Edison Medal (the ultimate insult being as he and Edison were rivals; it was the only award he received while alive), he died broke and alone in a hotel room in NYC and was not even immediately discovered.
While Edison was indeed to thank for the incandescent light bulb, Tesla created the first alternating current motor (which is what we use today, and is more energy efficient than Edison’s direct current), he built the power station at Niagara Falls, he invented Tesla coils, and did extensive research in the areas of resonance, magnetism, electricity and radio. He invented remote-control, discovered x-rays, and in his vision to construct a tower to transmit free energy through the atmosphere was ruined by greedy millionaires who wouldn’t stand for the money-sucking energy industry to simply vanish.
How I wish I had lived in New York in the 1940s. If I had seen this incredible man sitting on a park bench feeding the pigeons, by golly, I would have overcome my shyness to show Nikola Tesla a little bit of the respect and gratitude he deserved!

| It's kinda late, but I wanted to do a post in memory of
September 11th, 2001
These are some pics my mum emailed me of a memorial semi truck. Very cool.

This was a very important event in United States history. When Americans gripe about the war in Iraq, I want to slap them. People forget things so easily. This is what terrorists do.
We won't negotiate with terrorists.
We will offer no comfort or aid to the enemy.
God Bless America | | |
